Kiki’s work has a narrative and poetic quality that projects tradition
upon our living environments with an eye which is at the same time playful,
loving and very original. Thus, traditional techniques and materials are
often cast onto the “wrong” objects and measurements of familiar objects
are distorted or blown up. The result is a sensually tactile, rich and
aesthetic body of work in a wide variety of media.
Born in 1978 in Tegelen, The Netherlands, Kiki graduated cum laude from
the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2000. Her creation “Kiki Carpet” has been
included in the MOOOI collection and is by now a “classic”. She has participated
in gallery and museum exhibitions all over the world and her work has been
published in magazines such as Elle Wonen, Wallpaper Magazine, Harpers
Bazaar, Vogue U.K., View on Colour and The International Design Year Book.
